Sen. Alkali Supports Gombe Flood Victims With N6m

Gombe – Relief has come the way of the August 2019 flood victims in Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State through the Senator representing the Area, Alhaji Sa’idu Alkali (Gombe North).

The Senator who personally went around the areas affected, told the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Rashid, that he felt the pains of the people affected by the destruction meted by the downpour which he equally described as an act of God.

Alhaji Sa’idu Alkali who donated the sum of N1 million at the Palace of the Emir of Dukku and also announced the donation of N1 million each to be distributed to victims of the flood in five other communities of Hashidu, Malala, Wurotalle, Jamari, and Lafiyasale.

While commiserating with the people, the Senator prayed for the repose of the souls of those that lost their lives and property. He also prayed to God to prevent such a disastrous occurrence in the future.

He commended the State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya for personally donating N1 million to victims of the flood as well as the directive given to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to assess the level of damage to the affected areas for prompt intervention.

Responding, the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Rashid, appreciated the gesture of the Senator which he described it as a demonstration of his love and care to his electorates.

He said the Emirate and the entire people of Dukku will forever remain grateful to the Senator for bringing succor to those that were rendered homeless.
