Lagos – A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade has described the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the election petition tribunal as a sign of greater things to happen in the country.
Reacting to the judgment, Olulade explained that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has refused to accept that President Buhari was massively voted for by Nigerians at the election.
While congratulating the president on his victory, the former lawmaker noted that the judgment had put to rest the tussle over who truly won the February 23 presidential election.
“With this latest victory, I’m sure Nigerians can rest assured that the next level promises made to them will begin to yield results and at the same time witness fulfillment.
“This judgment no doubt will make Mr. President to remain focus on the delivery of good governance to Nigerians and it is my hope that the verdict will put an end to the needless bickering, distractions, and provocation that greeted the election.
“I would also advise the PDP and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to move on and drop the idea of proceeding to the supreme court to further appeal the judgment because nothing will come out of it.
“However, I want to use this medium to congratulate our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), over this latest victory and I also rejoice with Nigerians because the victory is a sign of greater things to happen.
“I also congratulate the leadership of our party, especially Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and all members of our party on this latest victory,” the lawmaker added.
